The Glenrock House – Own a piece of Fort Collins History

I had the opportunity to tour this home just prior to it going to the market and it is quite impressive both inside and out. I have always been intrigued on what it looked like during my morning walks to City Park with the dog, so I felt fortunate to get inside and see and feel the history throughout this home. It truly has a grand entrance and the classic low-angle craftsman style roof provides tons of shade on the front porch. 

Inside, wood abounds as one would expect and there are tons of pieces of old world charm throughout each room. This home is quite large, and is split between the original home built in 1920, and an addition from 2006 (which was very well executed and flows quite seamlessly from the original home). I always appreciate an addition that maintains a similar feel to the original portion of the home and have been through quite a few that feel like an afterthought, or what I would call a ‘home mullet – business up front and party in the back of the house’.
The lot is also quite impressive, a full 2/3 acres in the middle of Old Town is almost unheard of. There is plenty of room for outdoor or indoor entertaining in this home, and its location and proximity to City Park is also quite nice. It is located on Laporte Ave, which can be a bit busier that neighboring streets, but the road noise is minimal in the home and the lot is large enough to comfortably and safely have children playing outdoors despite the street. 
$1,500,000 may feel like a high number to some, but that comes down to just $300/SQFT, which is actually quite reasonable in Old Town. While it probably wont go super quickly, there will be a buyer out there that truly appreciates the size, style, location, and history in this home.
